Ralph N. Borelli is chairman of Borelli Investment Company in San Jose. Ralph entered the commercial real estate business in 1973 at age 19, when he joined his father’s company, N. G. Borelli Realtor. Ralph worked part-time until his graduation from San Jose State University, then entered the field full-time, and was named president and CEO of the company when his father retired in 1977. Under Ralph’s leadership, the firm expanded its capabilities beyond commercial brokerage, development, and property management services into asset management, land sales and repositioning, construction management, court-appointed receiverships, and more recently, the highly successful sales and development of commercial condominiums. Borelli also began offering syndicated real estate investments in 1979, and to-date has formed more than 40 partnerships with a portfolio of over four million square feet, valued at approximately $750 million. The company adopted the Borelli Investment Company name in 1987. Motor sports have been a passion of Ralph Borelli’s for many years. Ralph holds a vintage Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) racing license, and is also a member of the Green Flag Driving Association and the Nor-Cal Shelby Club. In 1999, Ralph purchased the #22 Maxwell House car—a 1991 Ford Thunderbird, which raced on the Winston Cup circuit from 1991 to 1993, and captured the pole position at the Daytona 500 in 1992. The car has been restored to its original racing condition and is currently being raced in the Historic Stock Car Racing Series (HSCRS) in events up and down the West Coast. Ralph also owns two other racecars— a 1973 Porsche 914-6 GT and 2000 Mustang GT. Borelli Racing has donated the use of the #22 Maxwell House car to help raise money in a number of auctions held by schools and charitable organizations. In addition, Borelli Investment Company offers special rides from time to time to brokers and other business associates as promotional incentives. Ralph is a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), the San Jose Real Estate Board (SJREB), the Association of Silicon Valley Brokers (ASVB) of which he is a former board member, the National Association of Industrial Office Parks (NAIOP), and the Home Builders Association of Northern California. In 1985, the San Jose Chamber of Commerce and ASVB named Ralph its Investment Broker of the Year. Ralph was also selected as the ASVB Land Broker of the Year in 2004 and 2005, and was named CoStar Power Broker of the Year in 2005. |
