Club Auto Sport to Sponsor a Car Show and Fundraiser for CHP 11-99 Foundation

Social event features car drawing for one-of-a-kind 2010 Camaro to raise money for the families of fallen CHP officers.

San Jose, Calif., September 9, 2009 — Club Auto Sport will hold a very special car show and social event from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 that will provide the opportunity to get a close look at a custom 2010 Camaro, which is the grand prize in a car drawing to raise funds for the CHP 11-99 Foundation — an organization that provides needed financial assistance to families of CHP officers killed in the line of duty, and awards scholarships to CHP family members.

The bright red 2010 Camaro — which was featured on “Jay Leno’s Garage” (www.jaylenosgarage.com) and has a unique striping package created exclusively for the car by GM Design — will be on display in Club Auto Sport’s stunning 10,000 square foot clubhouse and lounge. Party attendees are invited to arrive in their favorite cars for the evening, which can be added to the impromptu car show within the club.

The Camaro was donated by Larry Carter and Larry Bowman, and is one of nine fabulous prizes sponsored by a group of generous donors — so all funds raised from the car drawing will go to the CHP 11-99 Foundation. A maximum of 2,500 tickets will be sold at $100 each, enhancing the chances of winning for those entering the drawing. Among the other prizes are a golfing excursion at the Pebble Beach Golf Links with a two-night stay at the Inn at Spanish Bay, two tickets to the 2010 Super Bowl in Miami, 7-night Maui and Mexico vacation packages, a ladies’ 2.4-ct. diamond bracelet, a Rolex timepiece, and many more. The winning tickets will be drawn on October 12, 2009, and ticket holders do not need to be present to win.

“The CHP 11-99 Foundation’s mission has always been dear to our heart,” said Ralph Borelli, co-managing member at Club Auto Sport and also chairman of Borelli Investment Company. “We are very pleased we can host what will be a wonderful evening for our guests and we hope a fruitful fundraiser for this worthwhile cause.”

Party attendees will enjoy light appetizers, wine and beer, and will be able to see many rare or one-of-a-kind exotic and vintage cars on display — in addition to the CHP’s custom 2010 Camaro. Tours may also be arranged of the Club Auto Sport car condo facility.

This will position America as a force to be reckoned with in the global alternative energy market, leading to still more jobs, economic growth and energy independence. Silicon Valley is an ideal place for such a venture, with its well-deserved reputation for leading the technology revolution, which has had a profound impact on life around the globe.

More Than $17 Million to CHP Families Since 1981!

Over just the past four years, 11 CHP officers have died in the line of duty, leaving behind ten widows and 19 children. The CHP 11-99 Foundation quickly responded to help each of these families in their time of deep need. In addition, in the past two years the CHP 11-99 Foundation has awarded more than $3 million in scholarships to 1,900 sons, daughters, and spouses of CHP employees. All told, the CHP 11-99 Foundation has provided more than $17 million to CHP families since 1981. This critical work could not be accomplished without the generosity of donors.

“CHP officers serve all of us by performing what is frequently a difficult and dangerous job,” noted Mike Elder, Northern California Coordinator of the CHP 11-99 Foundation. “A car drawing such as this is an opportunity to give back in a small way to CHP families who give so much.”
